Yeah, tried to get them to re check it again. It never acts up when you want it to.
Now about having tested, how do I go about that when it never want to start bogging when I have it at the shop to be looked at. The guy said of what I'm explaining he would recommend changing the fuel filter & see what happens then. If it still does it then change your fuel pump.
I don't want to spend money on a fuel filter & problem still exist.
So, what do you guys recommend:1-change fuel filter(might not solve issue) or buy fuel pump /pray it solve problem.
Either one should I get them for a 91 Si oem or can I do Auto Zone etc..
Thanks for any imput

As a general rule of thumb, one should always replace the fuel filter when replacing the fuel pump, i don't think the fuel filter is that expensive so i would agree with your mechanic if you haven't changed it in a long time (typical fuel filter life is about 50,000km). Keep in mind it might also be your main relay, as those things can cause intermittent fueling issues and may look like a fuel pump problem, you can check that by checking voltage at the connector under the rear seat between the yellow/blk wire and the blk wire as you turn the ignition from off the run position. You want to check several times to make sure the relay is putting out a solid battery voltage. If you check it and once in awhile it puts out less than battery voltage (eg. 7V) or is fluctuating, you know you have a bad relay and you can replace or repair it if you know how.

I'll check that out. Do I need a meter to check?

You just need a voltmeter or digital multimeter

When I get one should I let car run or just turn key to on position but not running & the rear seat do you remove it from the front or by the rear where the seat belts are.
Never had to remove rear seat.
Thanks

Yes, no need to start the engine, you won't be able to with that connector disconnected anyway. just put the voltmeter leads on the yellow/blk and blk wire and turn the ignition key to run(not start) a few times and measure the voltage, should be at near battery voltage. You have to remove the rear seat to get access the the connector. After you remove the rear seat, you'll see a big round access plate with a connector in the middle of it. Thats the one you'll be testing. It has four wires, 2 for the fuel level sender and 2 for the fuel pump. Make sure you're not testing the wrong wires cause the sender give you some wierd voltages depending on how much gas is in the tank.
