I need help please, please...
This sounds like a problem that I have read about on a Toyota Prius message board. The Prius has a gas pedal that is drive by wire and has a control like the TPS in the Honda. The Prius will over or under respond to the pedal input because the electrical contacts are shorting out.Toyota has a recall for this problem,on the Prius board it is called "the big hand" problem because it is like a big hand from the sky that grabs the Prius. One fix for the Prius is to press the gas pedal down 20 times to clean the contacts, doing this in the Honda might be worth a try.The TPS is like a volume control on a radio, turning the dial all the way up and down rapidly is something that sweeps out crap. You can get an entire throttle body with TPS on eBay which is easier to swap than just the TPS.The throttle cable will stretch over time so make sure the cable is not loose now or after swapping.Pressing on the cable with your thumb should make the wheel connected to the throttle body turn not just sag the cable.Jam something into the throttle to hold the plate open so you can remove/replace the cable on the wheel.I removed the water lines from the throttle body and used a brass fitting to join the hoses together. If you are bothered by people driving up your behind I do not suggest owning a hybrid.
