Default Leak help.

I just bought a 90 si hatch. its leaking water through somewhere under the dash behind/underneath the glove box. The wierd thing is it only leaks when i turn on the defroster when its raining out. I ran the defroster/heat the day i bought it and it wasnt raining, and no leak. But today its pouring and i ran it while i was driving and it just kept leaking under the glove box. Im not sure what it is or what it could be. Any help/info is appreciated.

Dunno about the defroster... But, my CRX used to leak on the drivers side... It was the seal around the windsheild, I just took some silicone and sealed it up...

It doesnt leak when the cars not running. Its really wierd.

And another problem..The whole day while its been raining the car has been fogged up inside. Every window is like that and stays fogged. Could it be a bad seal in the windshield for that?

Wonder if it dosnt have something to do with the heater core (uses coolant lines as a heat source)... My old BMW sprouted a leak from there once... But if thats the case, it would be green like coolant...

Yah its definately not coolant. Like i said it only leaks when i turn on the defroster/heat and its raining out. Its almost like its sucking water in from outside and just dumping it in my car. Its really wierd.

After further inspection it looks like its coming from the unit under the glove box. Not sure what it is but it looks like its leaking from whatever that is. Possibly the fan?

You could have water coming in through the fresh air intake. If you remove the windshield cowel(the plastic on the outside of the car, at the bottom of the windshield) you will see what I am talking about. Once you get that off, on the right side of the opening you should see the air intake running into the car.

Well, there should be a shield that diverts the water from the opening. If water is coming though this point, I am assuming something is blocked up or there is a hole where they should not be. Also, the cowel should have a seal that goes around the bottom side that should press against the window. I worked on an Audi last year that flooded itself out cuz a drain hole was clogged with leaves and water entered in a similar manner. To be honest, it seems like a long shot but I am just going off of what he is describing.

That might be it. When i first bought the car and turned the heat on a few leaves and shit came through the vents. So im guessing something is in there.
