Default Relay Problem, Car Won't start

WEll, I have been tracing wires and checking them for 2 days now. I was messing around with the battery on the car and kept putting the ground on and off the battery like 100 times, I put the cable on and off a bunch, and I heard the relay's in the car click Alot on and off. I then tried to start the car for kicks, and it coughed and started for a second, then it dies and wouldn't start. Usually it just cranks. I checked the Main Relay, and it turns on the Fuel pump and click s it off after 2 seconds. I also have tried the other Main Relay I have. So I am pretty sure it isn't the Main Relay. But IDK what would casue the car to start randomly from putting the ground/power on and off the terminal alot. Also, last night when I was trying to diret power a wire, I got a huge spark, I thought I blew a fuse, and I checked it all and nothing. Then the car started! It ran on 2 cylinders (cause of the old harness I had) So I removed that harness and put in the one from RyWire. It wouldn't start after that. It has to be a relay casue what else would cause it to almost start, then die when I put the cable on and off the relay, and I hear all the realy go click click click click click in the car when I do it. Any Suggestions?

I closed your other thread on this same problem... please don't make duplicate threads, go back and edit the old one.

If you suspect a bad relay, you can bypass it to test it and running a DVOM on the signal line.

Relays will rapidly click a few times in low voltage situations.

I really can't help anymore without seeing the thing. That car has a lot of serious issues.

Damn... Kai's right, seems like u have alot of problems with your crx, sorry. I would start by checking all your grounds. If your grounds are good, u might want to check if there's a short somewhere in the starting circuit.

WEll, the otehr problems that I thought were problems were not, I fixed that stuff, it was from just a few things not being plugged in, I let my friend plug some of the things in and he forgot a few. Anywayz, I have voltage where it is supposed to be now, but it seems like there is a relay problem, how many relays are in that car? What relay would that be?

I think there's around 4-6 relays in our cars. There's 3-4 under the dash, and I think 1-2 more in the engine bay.
The starting circuit is the ignition, coil, distributor, and starter.

I think the problem is the TDC Sensor in the Distributer. Because the distributer is a little hard to turb abd squeks wqhen you turn it. Which makes me think the bearing is wearing out, and the TDC Sensor is having trouble reading. Has anyone else had this problem. Also, if I constantly try to crank the car for abouit 10 seconds
teh number 8 CEL pops up which is TDC Sensor. I have heard and did some searching and found that you have to replace the whole distributer.

Aight, well I tlaked to Ryan from Rywire, this guys is great with the help department, I reccommend him highly. My problem of not starting, was that I had to change some wiring around at the distributer plug, once I changed the distributer plug wires and re pinned a few things, it started up. But now it is only running on 2 cylinders. I set my TPS to .45v. I aas told that is factory spec. Anywayz, I need to figure out why it is running on 2 cylinders now. I took the fuel rail off and held all the injectors on with my hands and watched them all shoot fuel and atomize, so the injectors are all working, I checked continuity on the injectors, and they are all on the right spots, I guess the only thig that would make cylinder number 1 and 2 not run is spark, I am going to try the new distributer that I got from Rywire when I get it in on Thursday. Would a rotor or cap that is meesed up not fired onlike 1 or 2 cylinders but on the others? Any comments, let me know.

The cap has to be seriously screwed up to not fire two cylinders.

What spark plug gap are you running, out of curiousity?
