Very good deal. It costs around $4k to have a b16a installed over here. BTW, u don't need that vtec controller, waste of money for stock engines.

Actually, a vtec controller can hurt performance on stock engines. The vtec x-over point on stock b16s are optimized at 5k rpms. Lowering that x-over pt would not do anything for your torque curve, it would actually hurt it more than anything else.
If you're talking about modified engines, well that's a different story...

U have to be way more modified than that to justify using a vtec controller. I would say valvetrain work or a turbo would be some reasons to warrant the use of a vtec controller, but by then, you'll probably have a stand alone management system w/ a vtec controller.
Believe me, being able to switch vtec on at 3k rpms or something is not gonna help u. Leave it at the stock setting until u have done some real upgrades. I/H/E are not major upgrades btw.
I'm not saying to throw your controller out the window, just hold off on using it for now.

Well if it's in there, and he's givin it to u for free, just take it. Just be sure to turn it off and let your ecu do the work.

I'm honestly not 100% sure how vtec switches are wired, but I think it is wired to either the vtec solenoid, or the oil pressure switch. In any case, you have to trace the switch back to the main harness, snip or remove it, and rewire the harness together.
Try the easy thing 1st-just unplug the switch and see if vtec still engages at 5k rpms.
