U have to be way more modified than that to justify using a vtec controller. I would say valvetrain work or a turbo would be some reasons to warrant the use of a vtec controller, but by then, you'll probably have a stand alone management system w/ a vtec controller.
Believe me, being able to switch vtec on at 3k rpms or something is not gonna help u. Leave it at the stock setting until u have done some real upgrades. I/H/E are not major upgrades btw.
I'm not saying to throw your controller out the window, just hold off on using it for now.
