Default Suspension help!!!

Ok I do not need to lower my car as alot of people would think but I do want to rise it up a little .......Every single time I go over speed bumps I bottom out and scrap my undercarriage and I did have undercarriage lights on my hatch but not anymore for they broke when I went over the speed bump so now I am asking what can I do to rise it up a little maybe about an half an inch to an inch higher than what it is now and NO I am not a RICER...I had those lights on my car for show purposes...And I did not lower my hatch it came that way when I bought it last year from the GOSSETT Used Car Lot here in Memphis, TN....

Wow, that post is exhausting to read.

Anyways, ride height is determined by your springs. If you have adjustable coilovers, just adjust them. You'll know if you have the coilovers because your shocks will have threading on them. Otherwise, you'll need to buy stock springs or aftermarket springs that don't lower your ride so much.

You sound like the kind of guy that needs adjustable coilover type springs.

If you've been answering these kinds of questions for so long that you can actually make associations between personality and car suspension, I think you should give it a break, Kai.

I can't believe you said that auguy casue i was thinking the same thing. I was like damn KAI how in the hell do you know that....lol...:lmfao:

But anyways so if I got stock suspension it should bring it back to its normal stance right? Or would my stock 13 tires have anything to do with it being so low to the ground???? Just a thought... Cause I have not done anything to this car yet as far as lowering goes!!

I guess I did phrase that kinda odd... or maybe just a bit too southern or something. I basically said "you need coilovers to adjust ride height" h:

Since I picked up the MX-6, I've been spending a bit of time over on mx6.com. :dunno:

I just need a job.

Only if your stock springs are sagging, which is possible on an older car. The only way to raise it would be aftermarket coilovers, the ~4 inch adjustability range on them maxes out at about one inch over stock.

Depends on the tire sizing... you'll usually gain a couple inches of overall diameter when going to 17's which would require lowering the car to compensate.

My 14 inch steelies on 65's lower the car considerably, though maybe not an inch, and don't scrub like the 17's on 45's. I found this out cause I used a steelie as a spare one day when I got a flat.
