need to raise up alittle bit. spring/strut spacers?
i got a 90 civic wagon on H&R Sport/Tokico Illuminas/Yokohama 195/60/15 and it's rubbing the inner and outer fender wells on sharp turns. i don't want to roll the fender edge and take a mallet to the inner well just yet. i figure the only other easy way around it (while keeping the same springs/wheels/tires) is to raise it up about 1/2". i wouldnt' mind doing this anyway, since the front is much lower than the rear as it is.
i've seen these "spring boosters" and "spring spacers", basically a hunk of neoprene rubber that fits between 2 coils of the spring to raise it up a bit. seems like a good idea.
i was also wondering about putting a 1/4" custom steel spacer between the top of the strut assembly and the chassis, but i don't know if this is a good idea. seems like it might put undue stress on the bolts.
anybody know anything about these options?
thanks.

The easiest thing you could probably do would be to change your tires to a 195/50/15. The 60's that you have on there now are just a bit to tall for being lowered. I've had two lowered crx's and the first was with Ground Control Coilovers and KYB AGX's and even cranked way down I barely ever rubbed. Using spacers and/or spring inserts has just never ever seemed very safe to me.
ok.. i picked up some of the rubber spacers, but they're a no go. they won't fit in between the springs. i'm sure the aluminum twist-in type would work, but they don't seem like they'd feel too good, and might screw up the springs.
so, i'm seriously considering a 1/4-1/2" steel spacer to fit between the top of the strut assembly and the chassis. i know some european cars use these from the factory.. Volvo and BMW, i believe.
does this sound too disasterous to anybody?

You should seriously consider selling your springs and picking up some coilover type springs.

Just sell them and get a higher spring.
