Those pilot bushings are normally oilite bronze, they don't seize, just wear out, as said.

1G CRX's don't have pilot bearings, which is why you haven't had to worry about it before.

That explains it perfectly. The only other clutch i've ever done,other than motorcycles, was my 86 crx.
