B16 with B18 head? a couple questions
I searched around and didnt really find anything close to what i'm looking for. I'm buying this 89 civic hatch with a B16 swap, its an awesome swap and the interior is in such great condish...Well, right now i have a 12 sec car and i'm looking to be at least a 14 sec maybe 13sec car non turbo so my brother says "get a b18 head for the top end and keep the b16bottom end for the torque" is that true? I know i can swap'em but is that the right swap b18 head and b16 bottomend? So will i have pretty good low end and high end with that swap?...All i could find when i searched was b16head on a b18..thanx

How about a B18 block and a b16 head sounds better. I think the only differences between 18 and 16 heads are the cams. But with the block you will get more displacement which is never bad.

by B18 head u mean C. but the b16 head flows better so theres really no point. u could do a B18B (LS) with a b16 head and u get LS/Vtec which is where low end tq and high end HP come in.

a b16 practically has no bottom end torque. a b18 block with b16 head would be much better.
