i was on the highway yesterday goig 80-100 "spedo broken" and when i got stopped by the train crossing my car was idiling constantley over 3000 rpm.
so whal the train is going a cop comes up behind me ,and because my idle is so high my exs is blarring.he pulls me over for noise violation.i get a ticket and so on.so i get to my friends house to adjust it.not the problem. i took off my intake and pluged the hole in the throttle body it goes back to normal.
then we went to a pick and pull and got this part that goes to the back of the throttle body.it like a little piece of metal that has to inlets one for coolant and the other to let air in.that wasnt the problem.so we took the throttle body off and under it is the cold start valve selonoid .we plugged it as a temporary fix "plugged it with card board from a burger king cup.so i go out this morning, and the car starts but the idle drops so low the intake is taking littls gasps of breath to keep going, i give it a little gas and it starts going.....ok so know were do i get this part for a b16a? will it fix my problem or is it more than that,im figuring that its just a bad valve.any help is great..
oh sorry for the shitty spelling ive only been awake for 30 or so min...

 

You could try one from a 90-93 Integra, even though you kinda lost me in the description. It would be best to search partstrader or put a want-to-buy ad in the for sale section of this page.

I wouldn't plug anything with cardboard though, you're just begging to get a peice of that sucked into the engine.

 

i know but its a lot better than the motor racing @ 3000-4000 rpm at a stop sign.it the piece right under nieth the throttle body right it has 3 screws.2 on the bottom and 1 in the top centered between the 2. im not even sure if this is the problem but plugging it up seems to bring it back down .its just really difficult to get warm.every time i start the idle dops up and down from 100-500 rpm then it starts going smoother. i dunno but its also make this one screach every once in a while when i start it up .kinda like an old ford then it starts.thanks kai for the info by the way

 

hmm.i know its a vaccum leak. ive checked all the lines,the throttle body gasket and nothing.could it just be this one piece under the throttle body? that has a small leak thats causing it to suck to much air in?what all should i check out?
