Default Help with suspension

I just picked up an 88 CRX si (with no rust!)... it's in decent shape. Just bought a set of tires and got an alignment. During the alignment, the guy said that the caster was 2.8 on the one side and -1.4 on the other. The -1.4 is the "bad" side.

It appears the wheel is sitting about 0.5 to 0.75 of an inch back in the wheel well. The guy was able to set the camber and toe-in properly for the car. Tonight I took off the front wheels and looked around. There didn't appear to be any obvious damage except possibly the lower control arm.

Anyone have ideas on what a good procedure for checking the various parts is? I've searched these forums and most of the suspension problems seem to be more major than the one I have. Or what are the common parts the cause the wheel to be pushed back. I assume the previous owner hit a curb or something.

Thanks.
