The bore spacing is the same between the 83-87 D's and the 88+ D's, so yes, if you know what it takes to mount on a ZC head it is possible. It would be better to use a pre-88 brown cover ZC head, though.
For that matter, an entire brown cover ZC engine or a US 86-87 D16A1 would be a better choice with a suitable carb (or two.)

i live in MAUI , HI , its hard to find motors here. everything has to ship in from a different island and there's not much in HI, there is a couple but not as many motors as we find in cali, and since cali is closer, shipping is cheaper with cali to HI than florida to HI

on the elestronic fuel system swap.... im thinking there probably wont be that much to swap out because i had a 84 dual carb lude in my yard =
https://www.honda-acura.net/forums/s...d.php?t=115875
and it had an electronic fuel pump that sat outside near the drivers side rear tire and plugged into the fuel into engine bay line. I thought, why not take that pump electronic fule pump that could probably be excellent for dumping fuel on boost and slap it on the line.... the carb'd fuel pump on the rex block is attached to the distributor assembly and pulls fuel in based on air and an arm thats driven by the camshaft.
what do you all think about this lude electronic pump on the in line of the rex, i dont mind runnie ecu wires back there and i prob wont have to sway the tank out or anything, i know i can still keep the fuel filter in the back and in the bay or maybe change it to one filter insstead of 2.....

86-87 F.I. D.O.H.C. 4 D16A1 CC=1590 75.00mm piston heads 11-501
88-89 F.I. D.O.H.C. 4 D16A1 CC=1590 75.00mm pistons heads 11-502
strange that last number is a different piston model # for a certain company if i were to buy pistons from them; if i could drop the 86-87 in how come i cant drop in the 88-89's? different mount specs?

on my computer somewhere, but it gets pretty intense... basically, the whole car needs rewiring/repinning.
There was never a carb'ed D16A1, although there are carb'ed versions of the ZC and D16A8/9 (basically, euro ZC.) I do occasionally see dual carb ZC manifolds pop up.
