Default 1st gen crx swap

i recently purchased a 87 crx si, for 100$. It has over a quater million miles and it time for a swap. I read in the forums it can be done and with what engines. I have 1500 or so to spend. Maybe a little more. I was wondering if a b16a1 would go in easily? What, if any, modifications would i have to do to make this swap work? Me and my friend were gonna do it, since he has before, successfully. Any other parts i need to get for this swap? thank you in advance.

b16 just requires some special mounts that are about $500 total. As well as some other minor details, the ZC motor is probably the easiest to swap, and then it's a hard desision between the Integra LS and the b16. Then I guess after that would be an Integra GS-R motor, etc.

any swap to a D-series or B-series in a 1st gen CRX is probably going to blow your budget of $1500 - the B-series mounts, shift linkage and wiring alone will easily eat up half of that - the easiest swap to a later engine is the 86-87 integra D16A1 - finding a D16A1 that is any good could be a real problem, due to their age and the number of miles they have on them - an alternative to this is the JDM 86-87 integra brown valve cover ZC, which is basically the same as the D16A1 and can be had for around $500 - this engine (or D16A1) will bolt directly into your chassis without a mount kit - you will need these parts from 86-89 integra - transmission, ECU, knuckles/hubs, axles and shift linkage - all of the wiring plugs right into the Si harness - there are some minor changes you need to make for the swap but nothing that costs any money - if you can find the integra parts cheap enough and doing it yourself, you might get close to your budget

I know someone that has the full car of a 87 integra. (d16a1) I has everything you would need for the swap and would bolt direclty in with no problems. Make me an offer and I will tell him.

An 86-87 D16A1 swap should run around $500 at most.
A brown cover ZC swap will float around $5-700.
Any B-series swap will be at least $2000.

The best choice is to straight up buy an 86-87 Integra and start swapping in the Integra goodness (engine, transaxle, disc brakes, etc.)

i have a d16a1 that will be a good swap for your first gen... it needs approx. $200 worth of parts, so i'm not looking to get a lot of money for it... i'm in new york, so if you're interested we could meet halfway or something so i wouldn't have to ship...

let me know (PM, AIM - IMPRTTCH, email CivicRacingGirl7@import-tech.net)

motor also has tranny, and i have a brand new clutchmasters FX100 in the box for it as well.
