Default Gauge Cluster Question

Is it possible to take a gauge cluster from a 90 Civic HB Si and put it in a 90 Civic HB STD?
Some have said that this is not possible as one is electronic and one is mechanical...can someone verify this...debunk it...or is there a way to make it work.

I will have my hands on one soon as I just picked up a used Si for parts for my car (body etc) and I've always wanted the tach in mine.

Jason

Oh...and are the windshields in both car's the same?

Thanks Guys! :canada:

It will bolt in fine. They are electrical with the exception of the speedo is mechanical and uses a cable to turn it, and that goes for both STD and Si clusters.

So it is an exact swap? Is that what you're saying?

Plus, what about the windshield? Are they the same as well or do you know?

Shouldn't be any problem. 90-91 all used an electronic vss so everything should just plug right in.

I don't believe any 88-91 used an electronic VSS. Except the JDM Si-R.

And yes I am saying it bolts right in.

Electro VSS's started in US Civics in '92. Are you sure the SiR had an electronic VSS? I figured it had the same mechanical VSS as the 90-93 Integras. The 89-92 JDM Integras (B16A or SOHC ZC) used a mechanical.
