Default Brakes?

Alright guys. I'm new here and I'm a monster idiot. Here's my story. I have a 98 Acura 2.3 CL. For about a month now, I've needed to change my brake pads and rotors on the rear. Yesterday, they locked on me. I'm not sure if this is some kinda safety thing or I just messed up my brakes so bad that they locked. I meant to change them earlier but I've been to broke to buy my parts. I need to drive to work to make my money so I kept on using the car. Now my deal is, today I bought my parts and I started to change my brakes. But the piston won't compress. I even went as far as going to buy the tool that compresses the piston and it's so hard that it stripped the handle on the tool. I'm wondering if there is anyway to get the piston to compress, like if a safety measure was enabled or if I have to buy a new caliper. I'm praying so hard that I don't have to buy a caliper but if you guys know please let me know. Thanks.

Did you use a c-clamp? Did you loosen the bleeder valve on the caliper?

My TL is relatively new but I have a lot of experience with European cars. None of my cars requires opening of the bleeder valve to push pistons back.

Is this something peculiar to Honda?

It is not required, it just makes it easier to push the piston back.

The c clamp I bought was faulty. I rented one from a local store and I got the job done. It was a little tough but I got it done. I appreciate you guys. Thanks. I didn't need to open up the bleeder valve tho. Next time I'll try a little harder to change them on time.
