Get rid of that Stupid Compact Spare
Whoever invented the compact spare should be drug into the street and shot.
I had a flat tire over the fourth and of course NOBODY and I mean nobody within 200 miles of where I was had another one.
I have a 2001 Acura CL type S with a tranny on borrowed time.
I would like to get a steel rim with some sort of tire so it equals the total diameter of the stock rims & tire.
What are my options? I tried asking on the usenet and nobody replied.
Tirerack seems useless they don't understand.

Search on eBay, just buy a used TL/CL rim/tire and use it as a spare. Please know that the bigger wheel/tire will not fit into the spare tire well.

Yeah, that sucks... If the trunk is full where the hell would one put the flat tire?
What abotu the TL-A spec? Those are custom tires, right? That must be a bitch and a half to get a set of those.
The problem with having a spare the same size of all the other rims is that if you do this, you tend to use that tire and rim permanently. The reason many car companies give you a donut is so you only use it temporarily. It's not good for your car or your other tires, if you use one new tire, and the rest of them have slightly or more wear on the tread. It ruins the balance and it could cause your car to move slightly left or slightly right. Your supposed to change both front tires if you pop a front tire, or change both back tires if you pop the back. Or just go for a laser balance. It's all up to how you wanna treat your car.
