that is kind of a rediculous q anyway.....there is no real way to know unless you have the spec sheet right in front of you.

Aight cool, ill probably just buy a new head unit then. Anyone have any pictures of a 97 - 99 console with the new one in it??

I have the Alpine changer mounted in the trunk connected to the stock head unit. I like it, and whoever said there are wires running all over, there is ONE wire, and it is completely inconspicuous.
FYI, on the 96-98's, if you remove the stock deck, either your keyless entry won't work and/or the dome light will no longer turn on when you unlock the doors. I guess it doesn't make a difference if you have DX. Otherwise, you will have to hide the OEM headunit inside the dash somewhere to retain these functions.

i hid mine.. it is behind where the cd player use to be. its a tight squeeze to fit back there but it goes..

why did honda EVER do this?

on the topic of Head units

i love my JVC head unit mp3 player, brucshed alum. and mp3 player

mine is a DX, so what do i have to worry about? It doesnt have keyless entry

Well, then I suppose you have nothing to worry about. A friend of mine had a 97 DX and he swapped his headunit out with no trouble at all.
