hey, i got my alarm installed at this place.. and my alarm has a beep button which locks/unlocks with a beep and a silent which locks/unlocks silently... and there is also a trunk opener button but they said i have to pay 60 dollars (installed) for the trunk opener... is it worth it?

if your alarm's accesory function is (-) then you cant hook the solenoid directly to the alarm brain right? You'd have to use a relay with a fused 12 volt?

most alarms may require a relay either way though, as its only a transistor output, which is not capable of much amperage, and the solenoid usually draws more than the output is capable of handling.
One of my buddies also wants a power release. His alarm transmitter only comes with 2 buttons. So in other words he doesn't have a aux button. Now do i just go and program another transmitter that has a option button? TIA!
