Default How to hook a separate battery up? Also the pros and cons

My question is, how do i exactly hook on a separate battery in the trunk for my amps? I have a clue but I want to make sure. Also any pro and cons to that? thanks!

why would you wanna waste money on another battery?
upgrade your alternator for more amps for your system

yea i kno wut you mean and i was thinking about that. how much for a higher amp output alternator? I guess the whole car warranty comes in mind. but i'm open to suggestions

A good reason to have a separate battery for your system is if you are running a high power/high current system and would rather have a dedicated power source for your system so you aren't pulling power from the electrical system for the rest of the car. Another battery by itself would't be wise, best to do battery, hi output alternator and stiffening cap.

A battery is not a power source!!! A battery is a storage device. Your alternator is the only power source on your car.

Pros of an additional battery:
Extended listening possible with the car off

Cons of an additional battery:
Additional strain on factory charging system
Additional weight
Additional installation space/safety requirements (you have to vent it)
Need an isolator

Personally, I think that the cons outweigh the pros.

You should really take a look at what your total current draw is, then evaluate your electrical system need....post what you are trying to run.....
