No. But that's a good idea. I'm getting less noise than before, so I think it still may be wire related.

I'm upgrading my alternator today. I need a new one anyway. 130 amp.

I think I'm still going to purchase the Alpine 100x4 in a couple of weeks.

Ok... So the POS Pyramid amp was the problem. It was junk. 100 watts x 4, but junk. I took an older Sony 40x4 to test with, and it's quiet and smooth as hell, and no whine.

What would you guys go with? I was told the 70 x 4 is enough.

70 watts x4
http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...model=MRP-F450

or the 90 watts x4
http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/prod...&lang=en&tab=D

The Polks feel like they power, and @ 100 rms, would the 70x4 be ok?

And wtf is up with the ones on ebay?!? They're WAY inexpensive compared to everywhere else. How the hell do these guys do it? Are they b-stock? refurb but don't tell you?

I personally would pick this up

Well, looking at the Alpine website, those are MSRP prices. Itll be a little lower in retail stores. And looking on eBay...of course they will be cheaper.

Thanks for the suggestion, Will. You know more about this than I do, so more than likely, I'll go with that one. What's better about it? I'm no pro at the inner most specs on this kinda stuff. Does it produce the power without straining itself?

I just like their amps And they rate their amps at 12.5v instead of the max 14.4v that an alternator / battery can offer.

Thanks for the suggestion. The problem was the amp. Before I figured that out, I almost spent $ on filters that I didn't need :hs:
