Nick,
thanks for the info. Are there instructions available on how to install this kit in an MDX and disable the XM Radio ? I could not find any on the dice website
Thanks

With the HD module? Yes it will do RDS on the screen when you're not picking up an HD signal. When you're listening to the HD radio you'll have text as well, but with HD you can get alot more info if the radio station chooses to.
The iPod will display text just fine.
You'll need the Honda HD radio kit with the iPod cable, nothing special needed. All HD kits come with the Y cable.

You're in contact with Travis at Gig Harbor correct? I'll see if I can get some instructions forwarded to him. I don't have anything prepared for the MDX at the moment but maybe I'll be able to find something I can adapt to your use.
Yes I'm in touch with Travis and have placed an order with him
Just don't want to break the anything in the new car and displease the wife ..
Thanks
So I've heard many things on the DICE and I'm still confused.
On an 06 Accord v6 with XM radio, is it true that you can buy a splitter and still be able to use the XM function and the DICE? I remember reading people using this for spec-usa devices. Does it work the same for DICE?
What’s the deal with losing Text is you have XM radio?
How gaudy is the antenna sitting in the window. Will horizontal installation really not work well? Pictures anyone?
Is there a manual for the Honda's out yet? If so where can we download this at?
Why is it sad that only SAT text can be displayed? What’s the differences, advantages / disadvantages?
Hopefully someone can clear up some of these questions.

Honda only added text input from the XM source. So if we want to send text, we have to use it in XM mode and pretend that the DICE kit is a XM kit. The car can only handle one XM kit at a time.
It's not very gaudy if you take your time with the install. Horizontal will work, but not as well as vertical. Radio waves travel in an Up/Down range.
Manual? For what exactly?
There are no differences between SAT mode and CD mode other than text is working in SAT mode. It functions exactly the same either way.
Yes, there's a splitter. The R3 kit does not have it, and the R4 does have the Y included.

But when you used XM1, no text would come through for the XM stations?. Is that my understanding?
Hey Nick,
I stubbled across this forum just doing some google searches for different IPOD car integration kits.
I have a 04 Honda Accord with Navi/XM Radio.
I've been to the Dice site and it appears that the i-Honda-R3_g2 kit along with the $20 "R4 cable" is what i need for my car, which would make the total price $179.99.
I just wanted to know if this is the correct item that I should be purchasing?
I also wanted to know how the Dice product stacks up against the USASpec solutions?

Most likely the R2 kit will work in your car. It MAY be a R4 kit, (Some TL radios switched to the newer style that year) if you want to be sure, take a look at this: http://www.discountcarstereo.com/pdf/hon98.pdf
If it is a R2 kit, to keep your navi fully functional you'll need a pass-through cable. This is one for sale: http://www.logjamelectronics.com/piehon03fmm.html

Also is the R4 cable the same as the "pass-thru cable" you mentioned above?

Sorry, I was away on a business trip.
It will still say XM on the screen. You cannot get text from the iPod if you leave XM connected. It won't have any effect on the XM text display.
If you were to leave XM plugged in, you would have to install the DICE kit in CD mode.

Yes, that's exactly what you need. The USASpec kit cannot do text display and it locks out the iPod controls. Our reliability record is much higher than theirs is as well.
