Default Installing a amp in a cl?

I have a couple of questions about adding an amp to my car. It is a 97 cl with the bose system. About a year ago I found a specific harness that would plug into the bose system somewhere and supply the pre amp outputs to hook up an amp. I believe that it was not a high to low level converter and just took the low level from the head unit and made it possible to hook up an amp. This harness was specific for this car/bose system and reatiled for about $80. Does anyone know a model or part number for this? Secondly, if my only option is to use a high to low converter is it ok to splice off the speakers to get this high level signal? Would this affect the impediance to the bose amp? Ok so that's three questions but I would really appreciace any help with this. I know that everyone is gonna tell me to just ditch the bose system and install a new head unit speakers and an amp and tell me how overated the bose system is but I want to do it this way to keep it simple, retain the stock look and to keep the cost down. Thanks!

I did a search for the harness you were looking for with no success of any info about it. I would not use a high-low converter on the bose system amps.

If you have rcas from the factory radio connecting to the bose amp, which I doubt, you can use a cheap pair of rca's lying around the house, or go to radioshack and buy the cheapest and shortest length and do a splice from the harness that you buy for you acura (metra 70-1720). use the outer-shield of the rca to the neg speaker lead from the radio, and the inner wire to the positive speaker lead from the radio on a single speaker. then repeat the process of the other three speakers to the amp.

if the signal going from the stock radio to the bose amp are normal speaker leads, then metra's 70-1721 harness should do the trick when adding the aftermarket radio with no modifications to the stock harness needed.
