I have a couple of questions about adding an amp to my car. It is a 97 cl with the bose system. About a year ago I found a specific harness that would plug into the bose system somewhere and supply the pre amp outputs to hook up an amp. I believe that it was not a high to low level converter and just took the low level from the head unit and made it possible to hook up an amp. This harness was specific for this car/bose system and reatiled for about $80. Does anyone know a model or part number for this? Secondly, if my only option is to use a high to low converter is it ok to splice off the speakers to get this high level signal? Would this affect the impediance to the bose amp? Ok so that's three questions but I would really appreciace any help with this. I know that everyone is gonna tell me to just ditch the bose system and install a new head unit speakers and an amp and tell me how overated the bose system is but I want to do it this way to keep it simple, retain the stock look and to keep the cost down.
