Default Sub Suggestions

I am looking for some suggestions for a sub. I have a 15 right now and I am looking at getting a 12 instead. I have a Rockford fosgate t500.2 for an amp. It pushes about 800rms at 1 ohm or about 300 per channel for 2ohms. Anyway, any suggestions for a sub? price range is the 200-300 range.

thanks

if you can get 800 total rms at 1ohm and 600 total rms at 2ohms, I would suggest getting a sub that would make the amp produce 600 rms. reason being is because although an amp is "stable" to 1ohm, it will run much hotter and will reduce the life of the amp.

time to research subs that are 2ohm dual voice coils at 600rms.

Kicker makes some sloppy subs.

Go with some clean and composed. Alpine Type-R maybe? I'd say get a Stroker PRO but you're amp can't power one.

+1 kicker BOOO

Alpine type R at about 500 watts RMS = best sound quailty for the price.
A Rockford P3 isnt all that bad either but type R has a faster kickback.

Yes, the P3 can move more air while the Type-R has a better transient response or "kickback"

No one can handle the Stroker PRO!!!

if the thread starter still keeping up with this thread i thought that "kickback" would be easier to understand then "transient response". but touche.

I'd take advantage of that amp using a one ohm load. I mean why not? Proper environment and installation will prolong its life.
