Default Alternator for new setup

So i got a new sub and amp in my 2001 accord ex. I have a rockford fosgate t500.2 that is puts out about 600-700 watts at 2 ohms. this is for a 15in RE XXX . I would guess the amp pulls about 55 amps at that rms. Leaving me a little short on power with the stock 80 alternator and the stock battery. I'm looking for recommendations for a bigger alternator i'd really like one in the 150-180 range. Cause i tried it earlier today and the lights were dimming slightly. if i got a t1000 rockford (which i plan on doing) to give the sub it's actual rms i would definately need a new alt. last question would i have to update wiring and battery also if i got a HO alternator?

You dont need a new alt.

what size wiring are you running for your main power cable?

Have you done the big 3 yet? (batt --> alt, batt--->GND, alt-->GND)

haven't done the wiring but i know the amp pulls 50-60 amps running at rms and I put the sub in and tried it and all the lights dimmed and stuff. besides the amp i have the car running the head unit a ipod interface/charger headlights. It dims really bad when im just idleing too.

hes absolutely correct. you do not need a ho alternator. although that will give you some headroom.

The dimming of the lights is because the amps are pulling too much from the battery. Get a yellowtop or a larger cap before you get a new alt. My civic lasted 5 months with its stock alt. when i had two 1000 watt amps and a 750 watt four channel.
