Wow.......your all gonna drain his wallet.

Im actually re-doing my system because I need my trunk space.
I have a custom amp rack made by Qlogic, with two audiobahn amps and 1 kicker 12 l7 in aported box.

Headunit: Sony XAV 7W
JVC DVD player - forgot model
cd changer
sony xm

Im going to get rid of all of that and get this.

JVC - 6.5 double DIN radio
Im going to buy a sealed box for the kicker sub I currently have.
Im going to wire my interior speakers to my radio and just use my subwoofer amp for the sub.

Im looking at only spending maximum of 700 bucks.
The screen alone is going to cost close to 600 the box will be like 25-30 bucks and hopefully with the rest I could get sirius cause XM sucks.

No he said ( 4 channel bridged to the fronts and the subs.) thus implying using the one bridge to the fronts and the 2nd to the subs. I'm sure he ment one bridge for the subs and run the the other two channels to the front however somebody that doesn't know how to do this will over load the amp when they run 2 loads off one bridge.

Im not saying I did. Im just saying that when shops get into fiberglass it takes a lot of time, hench lots of money, to get extensive work done and done well. That combined with high end equipment will add up quickly.

Very true, thats why I took the time to do it my self took about 4 attempts to get the sub box right. rear kickers were easy cause I didn't have to worry about cracking them. Next i'll make a new center console.

$4k on car audio is easy. It's definitely not a cheap hobby once you get into it.

On my final system, I spent:
$1200 - in-dash dvd
$300 - front comps
$200 - rear comps
$400 - sub
$1000 - comps amp
$1000 - sub amp
$200 - cap
$200 - sound deadening
$150 - power wire/connectors
$60 - rcas
(and a bunch of other miscellaneous junk)

Thank God for Ebay. Retail on everything would've been over $8k, and that's just on parts alone.

Im so glad I can install everything myself, CORRECTLY. I'd even venture to say I could get through doing an alarm on my car.

Yeah... I don't totally trust most car audio shops. I'd rather do things myself. It just sucks that custom work's so time-consuming.

Its all relative. I mean if you want extensive work done and just dont have the skills then its not a bad thing to pay someone to do it correctly. You just have make sure your getting good people to work on your car. Some people arent afraid to swap a motor and some will pay someone to do it because they dont have the skills or dont want to deal with the headaches. As long as you factor in labor costs and can cover it, I dont see a problem with it.

Anyways back on topic. Id say b00gers was dead on. Thats pretty much exactly what i would reccomend for most people for good all around sound.

this is what i suggest. nice component includes crossovers tweeters and 6x5" speakers. for the rear 6x9 2 way. clarion makes agreat components set and also 6x9 sets. then add a nice premier radio and for the trunk a set of nice jbl 1200 watt dual voice coil subs with a 4 channel kole audio 960 watt 2 ohm stable amp, and a mono 1 channel 1000 watt amp would work great. all not too expensive and would sound very good.

components= 145
6x9 2 way=120
radio=200
amp kit=35
subs=80 each
box=35
4 ch amp=225
mono 1 ch amp=275
installation= headache!:doh:
