the other to the iPod power adapter by Belkin.

If I understand the post and the info on Crutchfield it looks like you may need this to use something other than a CD-changer as an AUX unit. But then I also found this...

You may want to try this to see if you can get the AUX1 to show up. I get the feeling that you'll have to either upgrade your headunit or plunk down $100 for this adapter.

Again... good luck,

JD

well actually, i think that adaptor is only if you dont have the AUX inputs like he does on his unit. the adaptor works by plugging into the CD changer input and controlling other devices through that.

Though I really doubt he needs that adaptor cause he already has the AUX inputs. I think its just a matter of how to select the AUX source on the headunit

Well, from the research I've done this head unit requires something to be plugged into the Changer bus input so that it has something to switch to. If nothing is plugged in there then it won't even allow you to switch to the AUX inputs. I've tried changing to that input channel with and without the iPod on. I thought the same thing about the actuation and that it needed to 'sense' something was plugged in so I was sure to have the iPod connected and ON - good thinking though.

I will have to decide if I want to shell out the $ for the XA300 or go get a newer deck. :dunno:

I appreciate all of you guys looking into this for me.

I broke down and picked up the XA-300. It works like a champ and I can connect my computer to it now too. :irock:

Thanks for the input guys!
