Default Help amp ins't working

I need help guys....i had my amp installed last year and it has been working since....but last saturday it just stopped working. I turned my car on and my subs wouldn't kick in. Its a MTX Roadthunder 2200 i think. It is hooked up to the back speakers and it gets power and everything. The power light comes on but no sound. Anyone have any ideas....thanx

maybe the amp is working but your speakers arent.

did you check for connections that may have came off? like the RCA on both ends, speaker wire....maybe theres even a problem with the HU.

also to clear things up for others....

-is this a stock HU
-if so, you are using the speaker signals from the rear speaker for the amp?
-what is hooked up to the amp

ok the amp is hooked up to the speakers....i have fiddled with them and they seem to be spliced in fine...but i guess i should check them again. It is a stock head unit. The amp is running 2 12" JBL 1241GTA subs. oh and the amp is a 2400 serious i think i wrote 2200. Thanks

assuming all the connections in your system is tight...can you check and see if the subs are blown?

you can do certain things to narrow down the problem. since you say the amp is getting power, but the subs arent playing, im thinking the sub is blown, or the amp isnt getting a signal.

if you have an extra pair of subs you can test one of those theories...since ive never messed with those High Input thingys...i cant comment much on those.

subs don't look blown....i guess i will have to check it tomorrow though....it never got loud enough for them to blow...each sub holds 300 watts RMS and 1000 max....amp only puts 425watts max
