Default 98 Civic LX: Looking to install a headunit....

I'm looking to install a new headunit into my 1998 Civic LX, but I have noticed that the faceplate is not standard by any means. The faceplate itself is straight up and down on the passenger side, but it has a big curve to it on the driver's side. How would you install a stereo in its place? Do you need a faceplate adaptor?

Does anybody have a link to a typical Civic headunit install? Maybe I could get a clue from something like that.....

Thanks for any help that can be sent my way...

There are dash kits readily available for your car that fill the extra space in the dash. A local stereo shop will have them, or theres plenty of online sites that have them. If you order a deck from crutchfield, they give you the dash kit and wirring harness for free (usually saves you about $30)

Ah, cool. I already have the deck, but I have heard great things about Crutchfield....I actually scammed their installation instructions from a friend of mine to take the dash apart and install the headunit in my truck, very thorough material.

Apparently the headunit I am getting already has the "Civic" wiring harness, it's just the faceplate adaptor that I may need.

Thanks for the note.
