Default Photo Radar

Does anyone know of a radar detector that will detect photo radar? I have heard of detectors that absorb the signal, and don't send it back, so basically even if the photo radar van 'sees' you, it has no idea how fast you're going?

and if there isn't, whats the best radar detector in general?

thanks guys

Mark

Photo radar isnt really as bad as it seems. It is only a low powered K band. Most good detectors can pick up this signal fairly well. Escort 8500/ Bel 990/ Valentine 1 are all fairly equivalent to each other

no, its also refered to as "instant-on radar" and there is no legal way to jam it(at least in most US states)--the best thing you can do is get a highly reflective clear paint and put it on your license plate, that way the flash "blinds" the camera--but for the most part your pretty much screwed

painting something like that on my plate would get me nailled with a big fine, if a cop saw it I would be in big shit. I ain't worried about an ilegal detector that will jam photo radar, I can hide that in my car, so does such a thing exist. and as far as US laws go, I don't live there so that's not a problem for me. (not that we don't have laws like them here in canada too )

this jammer sends out radar of its own to confuse the cops radar, in other words, you are broadcasting radar ALL THE TIME. this radar interference is very easy to detect (can be picked up with a 40 dollar detector that all cops have)

its like driving around with a big billboard on your car that says "PULL MY SPEEDING ASS OVER!" they might not ticket you for speeding but they can pick just about any other reason in a very thick book

so go ahead, your screwed either way, but a ticket is cheaper

they sel these things on ebay that you put on you rlicense plate. its this piece of plastic that blurs your license plate out unless you stand directly behidn it, so if you driving by a camera and it takes a picture, it cant see your license, so that would work good cause theres no way the camera would be able to get you from directly behind.
