I have yet to find an authorized Clifford dealer that doesn't install, if you find one, let me know.

I was just being a smartass on that last comment, but it's true. In anycase, I doubt a shop would install that alarm if they aren't an authorized dealer. I just assumed you'd know that I wouldn't expect you to call up some kind of wholesaler or something trying to find out the cost of install, figured you'd put two and two together and call up a shop that is authorized to sell/install Clifford products.

I know 3 people myself included that had this alarm. All 3 of us eventually left it on permanent valet mode because the alarm would keep going off for no reason. One of them is the son of alarm store dealer. I mean if he couldn't get it to work, what chance did I have?

I'm beginning to wonder if they spent so much time making this the "best" alarm in the world, did they realize how hard it would be to install correctly. Or if that was even possible.

Right now I have a $600 remote start keyless entry system. What a waste. I was better off with my circuit city no name. At least that alarm went off when it was supposed to.

I hear you bro. Although I NEVER leave mine in valet mode. Sure, it's a pain in the ass getting false alarms, but it's more of a pain in the ass dealing with bureaucratic insurance companies when trying to settle a stolen car claim. I'd rather deal w/the false alarms.

I hope it's just you're disappointment speaking when you say you were better off w/a CC no name alarm. I don't know about you, but I went w/a high end Clifford alarm for the piece of mind it gives(when not false alarming) thanks to second to none features. I rest assured that, unless towed away, when I come back to my car it'll still be there.

I have been told that it's the proxy sensor that cause this problem, it doesn't get alot w/metal inside the car, or metallic tint, both of which are in my car at all times since my tint is metallic and I have an autolock. Guess im stuck w/false alarms:dunno:

couldnt u adjust ur proxy sensor? i just installed my dei viper 790 with every option available cept for the pw module and audio sensor, the proxys work great, tho it takes practice to adjustin it properly. if u were nearby i would install it for u for lunch and some beer.

and when i hear ppl say they got 600 dollar alarms and such especially viper and clifford, it sucks. cuz the mark up is horrible. lets put it this way, i got my total alarm package for under 250 bukks. good luck with it bro.

That price you paid for your alarm is a hookup, not retail pricing.

Sorry to bust ur bubble there but uh, I guarantee your car would be jacked alot quicker than mine would. I'm no expert on the Viper alarms, but I know that Clifford has options and standard features on their alarms that Viper doesn't have. Your Viper has Failsafe vehicle recovery system, mine has BlackJax. Both are meant to allow for easy, safe, worry free recovery of your stolen vehicle. FVRS will flash the lights and trigger the sirens, but won't kill the car until the thief turns the ignition off, whereas BlackJax gives em 10 seconds to enter the correct override code then will shut the car down if it's not entered. It will also shut it down if the correct code is not entered on three tries. If the thief fails on three attempts, the car will be dead in the water for approx 5 minutes, sirens blaring, lights flashing. The only way to get it to stop is to enter the correct code.

I can go on and on how Clifford is superior to Viper, and all other alarms, but no need. I will say though that you got a bomb ass deal on that alarm.

true, the clifford is a more superior alarm, i just made sure that my alarm along with my autolock, and the club will give the thief a busy time while i come runnin out with a bat. if we carry clifford, of course i would of put that in my car, even tho dei owns them now, clifford still incorporate some of their best features just like you mention. i actually work for circuit city so i got the stuff at cost.

yeah man, I knew you had a hookup of some sort. That's coo though, not a bad system for what you paid for it.

Good job layering the security That's the key to preventing theft.
