I know 3 people myself included that had this alarm. All 3 of us eventually left it on permanent valet mode because the alarm would keep going off for no reason. One of them is the son of alarm store dealer. I mean if he couldn't get it to work, what chance did I have?
I'm beginning to wonder if they spent so much time making this the "best" alarm in the world, did they realize how hard it would be to install correctly. Or if that was even possible.
Right now I have a $600 remote start keyless entry system. What a waste. I was better off with my circuit city no name. At least that alarm went off when it was supposed to.
I hear you bro. Although I NEVER leave mine in valet mode. Sure, it's a pain in the ass getting false alarms, but it's more of a pain in the ass dealing with bureaucratic insurance companies when trying to settle a stolen car claim. I'd rather deal w/the false alarms.
I hope it's just you're disappointment speaking when you say you were better off w/a CC no name alarm. I don't know about you, but I went w/a high end Clifford alarm for the piece of mind it gives(when not false alarming) thanks to second to none features. I rest assured that, unless towed away, when I come back to my car it'll still be there.
I have been told that it's the proxy sensor that cause this problem, it doesn't get alot w/metal inside the car, or metallic tint, both of which are in my car at all times since my tint is metallic and I have an autolock. Guess im stuck w/false alarms:dunno:
