might be some type of relay under the hood as opposed to just fuses, but not sure. There's a fuse box under the hood too isn't there? did you check it too

I'm not exactly sure. I think you have to test them with a meter, but don't quote me on it. whenever I've replaced one I've just eliminated every other possibility and gotten lucky replacing the relay. But I dont' know that there is a relay that would control your lights like that. Relays are for big stuff like A/C and Fuel and stuff. Do you have a Haynes manual?

well if you can't find anything else wrong with it and nobody else that might be able to find something else wrong, then I would just try to figure out which relay controls the dash lights and then replace it. they run 15-30 bucks at the auto store or dealer. Of course those two relays could be for the L and R headlights and not have anything to do with interior lights. Does your dome light still work?

my interior lights and rear lights went out when the orange wire for the "dimmer" function on my radio came into contact with bare metal. i only had to replace a fuse under my hood labled "small light" and seald the end od the orange wire. i was careless while i was installing it and forgot to close it up properly.

Hopefully, your problem is not the same as I experienced, but it sounds as if it is. A local shop installer made a mistake when doing my stereo, and my cluster lights went out as well. Those were the only lights that were out, and there were no other problems. Here is the thread that I started when I inquired about the same problem.

There was input from others, and I provided updates along the way. Be prepared to spend a few hundred...just for the part. Fortunately, the stereo shop picked up the entire tab. Good luck.
