Just Got My Lip part 2
i got the civic type r look for my 1994 accord...
i finally put the new lip on and just like everybody said the sh!t does'nt perfectly fit. i had to bend the ends a little. its kinda hard to do especially if your working by yourself but it fits. no extra holes to drill. the only thing i hate is the two bottom ends kinda flares out, but its still ok, coz i just got the lip from ebay.
anyway i went to pepboys and bought some spraypaint and the guy recommended for me to get the Varsity fast drying primer and he said i dont have to sand the lip if i use this primer(on the can it said, non-sanding..fights rust..recoat
anytime..wood/metal..interior/exterior) and i tried it on my old stock lip that i took off, primed it twice and spray painted it twice. its dry already and i tried rubbing it with my fingers and the paint stays (the color looks nice by the way) but when i tried rubbing it with my finger nails the sh!t comes off, so im assuming that i really have to sand it first before i paint it. oh yeah the spray paint that i got is Plasti-kote import color it looks like the color of my car.
so, my question is what/which kind of sand paper do you guys recommend and what grit of course and do i have to spray paint with a clear coat after for added protection?
sorry for the long post but im starting tomorrow morning. thanks boys and girls.

Anyways, I think you should get Bulldog adhesive promoter. Whatever you go with, yeah, sand that shit down. You can go w/a fine grit paper for that, not sure what #, some have #'s on them, others say fine, medium, coarse. You'd prolly be fine w/anything over 600 grit, or one that says "fine". Sand it down real nice, make sure the surface is nice and smooth, no deep scratches in it. Hit it w/a coat of either Bulldog adhesive promoter or that Varcity stuff, wait like 20 minutes, hit it with another coat, wait 20 more minutes and hit it w/ a final coat. Let it dry. Then hit it w/3-4 light coats of paint, waiting 30 minutes between coats. Let it cure. I'd let it sit overnight since, then the next day you can wetsand it to get rid of any dust or dirt that may have landed on it. Then hit it w/3-4 coats of clear, waiting 30 minutes between coats. You should be good to go:thumbup: You gotta take some pics of it mang, I wanna see how good it looks, I been wanting to get one but I don't have the $$$
Good luck mang
