Anyways, I think you should get Bulldog adhesive promoter. Whatever you go with, yeah, sand that shit down. You can go w/a fine grit paper for that, not sure what #, some have #'s on them, others say fine, medium, coarse. You'd prolly be fine w/anything over 600 grit, or one that says "fine". Sand it down real nice, make sure the surface is nice and smooth, no deep scratches in it. Hit it w/a coat of either Bulldog adhesive promoter or that Varcity stuff, wait like 20 minutes, hit it with another coat, wait 20 more minutes and hit it w/ a final coat. Let it dry. Then hit it w/3-4 light coats of paint, waiting 30 minutes between coats. Let it cure. I'd let it sit overnight since, then the next day you can wetsand it to get rid of any dust or dirt that may have landed on it. Then hit it w/3-4 coats of clear, waiting 30 minutes between coats.
