Question about blue lights under driver and passenger side dashes?
This might be a stupid question to some of you, but I was wondering if those blue neon lights (under the driver and passenger side dashes) that you see in some people's car at night.......are they just 9" neon lights that you can buy at like auto zone or somewheres? Also, I don't know for sure but they do not look like they plug into the cigarette lighter, so how do they work? I want to get some and put them under the dashes of my coupe. I attached a picture so yall could see the light I am talking about. Thanks
Some of the neons have a switch located on the cigarette lighter adapter, others dont come with a switch, but most neons have a cig lighter adapter. If it doesn:t, it:s pretty easy to wire them, you just tap the red or black/white wire into a power source, and then tap the black wire ionto part of the metal chassis to complete the ground. There are also control modules that you can plug the neon wires into, which is what I used, it controls up to 20 neons. I was able to squeeze in 20inch neons in front, and 15inch neons under the seat, so in the larger 6th gen sedan, you should be able to do the same. Heres how it looks. . .
I put a 10" blue neon under each of my seats, easier to get too, and shines more light. got em at wal-mart for $10 each (uses cigarette lighter), and a 4 way splitter for $10 or something around there. I've had em for about 3 months and no problems yet, they even got the little sensitivity knob so you can make em flash to the music. you'd be supprised how much neon stuff wal-mart carries. at autozone the same neons I have run around $19 each
doublesided tape, or even loosely tied around something, so it has room to flex. I bolted in one of my neons and in a hard corner I heard a cracking sound, there was a fracture in the glass and the neon was kaput.
this is an unrelated question, but what kind of gauges are those, and why do the letters look white? it really looks like i've seen that car before, don't remember the guy's name at the moment... but if i remember correctly the gauges should be blue
