cam gear and pulleys will have results, see dyno tuning.
he also had a FPR and spent alot of time/money for 3hp on the dyno.

also, it's tough to tell, but he increased his top end by 3hp, but what did he sacrifice on the bottom. on a SOHC car all you are doing is moving the power band around. since he later went turbo the cam gear is good, but for your average person i wouldn't waste my time unless i wan also getting a apexi S-AFC or V-AFC tuned at the same time.

Well, I don't think its a total waste. If you are having your t-belt reaplaced that would be a good time to install a cam-gear, in addition you could follow others tuning techniques as a guide. Running a new FPR isn't that expensive campared to the t-belt costs if you are paying to have it done. Once you have bought an I/H/E the cost of the two above items isn't that large. especially to gain 4-5hp in the daily powerband.

been there, done that, i'm glad i was able to sell it for $40 after i did my swap. i bought one and had it installed when my timing belt was done. i went from running 16.5 in the 1/4 mile to 16.9-17.0 after messing with that stupid thing according to other people's suggestions. i set it back to zero.

yeah ur right, ive tune mines only 3 times and the damn bolts r strippen, im like f it, ill just leave it set where i have it which is 3 advanced for low end. i wanna try 5-6 but im scared to mess with the bolts, scared i wont be able to tighten them back up. cause if u dont tighten them the cam gear will adjust to 10 retard, i kno, mines done it the other day.
i didnt use the right tool to tighten them.
