Well, I don't think its a total waste. If you are having your t-belt reaplaced that would be a good time to install a cam-gear, in addition you could follow others tuning techniques as a guide. Running a new FPR isn't that expensive campared to the t-belt costs if you are paying to have it done. Once you have bought an I/H/E the cost of the two above items isn't that large. especially to gain 4-5hp in the daily powerband.
