Default 96+h22a help!!!

i have a 96 accord ex. i am looking to swap a 96+ h22a into it. i spoked to a buddy of mine that sells motors here in the atlanta area and he said i could go 92-95 obd 1 and change my current ecu to that. or i could go 96+ but i would have problems with the ecu because of the oil pick up sensor on the 96+ preludes is what makes it obd2. he said i had to swap out the ecu for a prelude one as well.
which one has anybody done. is just putting in a 92-95 h22a and converting mine to obd 1 good or go with the 96+ and put in the prelude computer?

help!!!

Part of the problem here is that in order to pass inspection the engine has to be same year or newer. Regardless of if you switch it to OBDII or not it is still going to fail inspection if they run the numbers on the engine.

Just get an OBDII engine and save the hassle. No joke it sucks to do the work then not be able to register it after your tags expire

I have and have done an OBD II swap and you have to do nothing with the oil sending unit WTF is he talking about I guess that is why he sells motors and doesn't install them. All you need to do it get a 96 or newer motor with ecu and you will be fine everything else is just plug and play though you will have to run a few wires vtec solnoid, pressure switch, IAB, knock sensor and you also need to get a drivers side motor mount from a 92-96 prelude and use it also.

You can get the 97+ engine and tranny but in order to stay OBD II you need a 96 P13 ECU unless you are getting JDM engine and then you can use the JDM ecu. All you need to run as far as wires is just the IAB, knock sensor, vtec pressure switch

stick w/OBDII it'll make your life so much easier.

unless someone gives you an OBDI engine, in which case you might as well make it happen.
