Another Aftermarket Wheels Without Lowering Question
I know and understand the whole hoopla surrounding dropping large aftermarket rims and tires on without lowering the chassis, and how it creates an awful "4X4" effect; but someone once mentioned in here something about matching the factory rubber sidewall dimensions once buying the lower-profile aftermarket tires in order to close the wheelwell gap better and eliminate the 4X4 effect or something along those lines; I was putting more serious thought into chrome 18's for my 99 EX V-6, but didn't want to mess with the suspension and lowering...is there a way around getting this 4X4 effect and closing that damn awful wheel well gap if I get 18's without lowering the vehicle?

use the calc. to determine what tire size you need to keep it close to stock for odvious reasons. now for closing the gap w/o lowering well a larger sized sidewall would do the trick since in making the rim size larger you make the tire size smaller to keep the same ratio so making both the rim and tire larger would lose some of the gap w/o lowering the car

Yes, yes....it was you who had said this regarding the sidewall diameters and shit....so, if I wanted to get 18's or so aftermarket rims, I really couldnt go with low profile tires if I wanted to eliminate that 4X4 look, huh? If I go with these size rims, I need to get a tire more like my stock Michelins, huh? Kind of high-profile, all-season? Damn kid....thats gonna look like complete ass probably; the whole idea of getting the larger rims is to get the lower profile, wider tires....this sucks....

Would changing the wheels and tires without lowering the suspension change the speedo? I dont know....why would that happen, though....does dropping the suspension with aftermarket rims and rubber correct this and bring the speedo somehow back to original specs?

yup my 2001 accord has a bigger gap then their blazer, no joke.
it only had 30,000 KM on it too...so its just breaking in.
their tires are far meatier then mine,, but my car does have a pretty high wheel gap, im hoping thw shock start to die soon so it doesnt look so bad.
haha i know thats horrible.
maybe i mis red, i just thought you said that if you put on 19's and used a thich profile your have a wheel with a overall larget diameter, therefor your sopeedo will be off.

RaceACCORDingly i hate to say this, but your stock ride height looks really really really really high. i wonder if all sedans are like this.
btw ... what did you use to tint your tails?
