My 16's on my 99 EX V-6 Coupe look just as bad sitting in the wheelwells; all Accords are like this....man, you gotta see my father's 97 Special Edition Sedan riding on those 15s....they are like donuts occupying these massive holes....

Accordingly, those are 15s your sedan sits on, right? They dont look all that bad, honestly, as far as style....I had suggested to you, keep those alloys shined up and with your fogs and rear wing and tints, you ride looks dope enough....

Im worried about putting low profile 18's without dropping my ride....

I agree----it is all about the OEM look; my friend Mike who recently moved from here in New York to Florida, and who is a complete car nut like me, tried to make me understand this....that when you get a new car, it should look good enough already whereby all you want to do is add tinted windows...the rims should be 16's (stock) at least, the thing should have a rear spoiler and fog lamps, and it should be loaded with leather and all power (if you can afford it); he recently traded in a Pontiac Grand Am GT for a brand new VW Jetta----top of the line in black, rear spoiler, leather, heated seats, the works...all he did was smoke the windows....and he drove down to Florida with it....he didn't add no massive aftermarket wheels, or add a wild body kit, or black out the windows, or add a huge wing off the trunk...

BUT....I gotta tell you....sometimes I see Accords that make me very envious dude....there is some kid in my neighborhood who drives a 99 or 98 Coupe like me, but his is in white, and he has the OEM body kit (I think) but this thing is sick----its lowered, the windows are blacked out and he has like MASSIVE chrome rims on this thing----plus, his lighting scheme is all altered with blue LEDs everywhere; this thing makes me jealous. It really looks like a drop dead show car. Suddenly, after I see him, my OEM loaded ride seems weak and unimpressive on the road....ever feel this way when you see a totally decked out, modded Accord on the road next to you? And I dont mean a riced-out ghetto machine...I mean something that just makes your car look so weak and insignificant in comparison.....

oh yeha i know what your saying.

personally, i think jcshmid has the cleanest looking accord i have ever seen.
the WW kit is the best thing to happen to accordm sedans, it looks like something honda could have produced to sell as an OEM sedan kit.

cars now a days look good from the factory, soo good that you dont need to swap entire bumpers and body panels, and add products to compltly replace and alter the look of what factory gives (ie: altezzas and overly big spoilers)

and besides, althoutht my car is stock, exceot for my few little things ive done to the outside, it still turns a few hgeads because its kept shiny, and the money that im saving from loading huge rims and kits and suck will eventually be dumped into the engine.

so when a guy thinks a stock accord is next to him, he'll be dead wrong.

Right....thats what Im saying about a stock ride----when you keep it always glistening and shiny (like I used to be able to), the car will turn heads because the majority of drivers out there just drive around with their car looking dirty and like ass; rims are always filthy, etc....dont know if you noticed this too; so if your car is always detailed and shiny its gonna stand out even with mild OEM accessories like you and I have....

BUT, as I agree to a point that cars today are coming with accessories and pieces to make them look much better just rolling out the dealer's door, there can still be improvements; I mean, why such a low ass spoiler on the rear of the Accord? And why is this spoiler not STANDARD on the COUPE? And FOG LIGHTS? For god sakes---this is a sporty two door vehicle!! How can Honda not equip this car with fog lamps or a wing?? But I digress; sometimes I feel manufacturers can do a better job with OEM stuff; take Mercedes for example---my parents' 97 E320 has the MOST AWFUL looking wheels I have seen on a luxury car; they are just flat hubcap-looking things....what they hell were THEY thinking?

But see, with wheels is where I get mad....I know Im gonna get a lot of shit for this, and I KNOW OEM tires have to balance ride comfort and slight performance, so thats why the stock tires are so wimpy looking....but, come on...some of these wheels are way too small and ridiculously mismatched for the vehicle; these 16s on my EX-V6, while looking stylish and bling bling when I first picked the car up, look like ass now because everyone and their mother is rolling on 18s, 19s and 20s out there on the roads---so thats why I wanna drop some large chrome dubs on there, to spruce this car up a bit....but I dont wanna drop the suspension or mess with the ride height really....

i got you bro but you know my position on the search button here. as for your other post. the larger the rim in return yeilds a smaller tire. you can go with a tire with a thicker side wall thats your choice but you'll throw the total diameter out the window when you do that. 215's fit my car just fine but with 225's i cant turn in the front of my car since its lowered. for you since you arent lowered the extra sidewall isnt a problem and would take away some of the extra gap you have. just cuz you go bigger rims doesnt mean you have to have low profile tires. the same way if you have 16's doesnt mean you have huge tires (cuz you have get low profile tires in 16's) looks stupid w/o a drop though but thats my thoughts (neighbor has that on his car )

:fawk: the search button.... Sometimes I dont follow you because you write your sentences all together sometimes and it's hard to understand; if I do not lower, I can go with a thicker sidewall, is that what you are saying? Do you think 18s with a thicker sidewalled tire will take some of the perceived wheelwell gap away? And what are you referring to with regard to "looking stupid"--- aftermarket large wheels with thick sidewalls, or just large aftermarket rims in general on cars that are not lowered?

yeah thats what i'm saying. just dont go ova board with the added thickness. use the link i gave you to see how far off stock reading you'll be with the larger diameter tire. going too big might remove the fender gap but also might give you handling problems when it comes to turning or driving with other people in your car. thats why i said for me being lowered i cant go larger than a sidewall of 215 in the front of my car (i'll have problems turning if i do)

no small rims with low profile tires on a car thats not dropped. just makes the 4x4 look even worse on the car.

Does anyone have any pictures----by any chance---of an Accord -- OR ANY CAR---that has had aftermarket wheels put on it (17s, 18s, etc) WITHOUT A DROP....BUT, with thicker, higher-profile sidewall rubber? I know this is a stretch, but if someone has one, please post....just looking to see what it would look like; NOT a pic of a car not lowered with aftermarket rims and low profile tires---because I know that looks like a 4X4; but Im looking to see if I can get a glimpse of a car sitting on higher profile rubber to see if the wheelwell gap gets diminished....
