Default whats involved in lowering?

i know this might be a n00b question or you will tell me to use a search, but i cant find what im looking for wthout hunting through LOADS of results

anyhow, im considering lowering my car, very slight, possibly 1.75 in the front and 1.5 in the rear, but im not sure exactly whats needed to do so.

i know people who use just coil overs to achieve a clean looking drop, would this work for my car just as well for the size drop i want? also how much of a ride difference arewe talking about? much rougher?

will i need new shocks??? to maybe compensate for the rough ride?

and lastly, will i need a camber kit for this size drop?

thanks a bunch.

for that kind of a drop, you have several options. First option is to purchase only the springs. I think neuspeed sports or eibach prokit fit ur needs. Since it is not a drastic drop, you won't need camber kit, but buying new shocks is upto you. You should if you can afford them tho. With those 2 springs, you wont sacrifice a lot of ride quality even with stock shocks. My prokits feel exactly like stock and the car sits 1.5 inches lower. (I have stock shocks)

Anyways, my suggestion is to get the pro-kit or sports springs and also slap on some koni yellows. U can control the height a little bit with the adjustable perches, so that gives you a little flexibility. H&R sports would have been good, but they have changed their 1.7/1.5 inch drop to a 1.5/1.2 drop, so it isnt much of a drop.

Since aftermarket springs are lower than stock springs, it will definitely put more stress on the stock shocks, which were designed to work with stock height springs. However with 1.7/1.5 inch drop, your stock shocks wont blow the next day. If you drive accordingly, they'll last u a good 3-4 years easily. Most people just buy springs and then later on when they can afford the shocks, they purchase them, so you'll be fine even with if you just buy springs.

it seems that everybody is purchasing koni yellows, and they're all satisfied with it. I bet those are good, but they are quite pricey. Another shocks i would definitely recommend are KYB AGX shocks. I think they are the best bang for the buck by far. For the price you pay, u cant get anything better.

Bumpstops. And it doesn't have to be cut on sport spring applications. Some recommend it, but mine are still virigin. H&R recommends that you don't cut them for the sport springs I have.

If you want 1.75F, 1.5R get H&R sports or Neuspeed sports. They both lower about that, and ride a bit more firm and sporty than stock. I rode on stock shocks with my H&R's for 2 years, no problems. I recently installed Koni Yellow shocks.

If you want it to ride like stock, then get Eibach Prokit. I like the drop that the H&R's give better, and I want the performance of the spring, so that was my choice. Mine still rides great, and together with the shocks, and upgraded bars, it handles great.

Hope that helps.
