Seeing as though you are from Long Island you should know at least something about poor weather. When it is snowing heavily or even dense with fog, the regular headlamps on a car can decrease your visibility. Sometimes it is better to drive with no lights on at all.

Fog lights are designed to aim their light output to countter act the negative effect of conventional headlamps when visibility is poor.

Yeah I understand that and I know the modern intricacies of northeast snowfall to the fullest extent, I was speaking of a stylistic ramification of these kids in the metro NY area -- and if YOU are from this region of NY you cannot not know what I am referring to -- that cruise around in 82 Corollas with their multi colored fogs on and nothing else because they simply want to be noticed. If reducing glare from eliminating headlamp patterns works for both y'all, then go for it -- I was talking about yes, these "moron kids" that cruise Francis Lewis Blvd like it's still 1991 with cars so beat up the paint is falling off----BUT they have $1800 PIAAs to showboat; I was not calling the previous poster a "moron kid", for the record.
