They "perform" the same since they both run at 35watts. 4300K HID will always be brighter then 6000K HID. 6000K is like 10-15% dimmer then 4300K if you want to get technical. 8000K is even worse its almost like 30-45% dimmer then 4300K.His is D2R HID which is 2800 lumens if your is a D2S then you'll be at 3200 lumens. Also HID does color shift that is why 4300K does get a bit bluer over time. Also it gets a bit dimmer over time. If both HID was brand new his would be brighter then yours.

Avoid cheap kits even though the cheap price may be tempting. Go with kits made by companies that make HID for OEM cars. OSRAM, BOSCH, Philips, Panasonic, Mashushita (sp?), Hella, and I believe Catz. Some of the HID kits may be a mix of parts from different companies so just because the ballast says Philips doesn't mean the bulb is Philips as well. For more information www.hidforum.com has lots of information.
There is members on that forum that are reputable sellers of HID kits and retrofits and they not only sell their HID stuff but they know their HID stuff. They don't bs around just to make a sale.

A good example is the Acura TL, CL, IS300, and the Lexus all use D2R. BMW and most Mercedes that have HID projector uses D2S. Look at the picture it should be straight forward. Get a 9006 specific kit if they are going in your stock headlights... then the bulbs just go in like the stock halogen bulbs, the wirring between the bulb and ballast just plugs in and the wirring from the stock headlights can be used to power the ballasts... some ballasts (philips) have a 9006 style connector already on them, so the stock headlight harness just plugs right into it.

I dont wann have to use silicone to make sure they stay in place.
Yeah the only way to get a correct beam pattern and produce a nice even light with no hot spots is to use a light fixture that's optics where designed with HID's in mind.
That's why 93AccordEX went with the A6 projector. I probably would go with the S2K's projectors if I could afford it.
Currently I just have the OSRAM H4 kit which is ok, It is HID but it in no way resembles an OEM's HID's. I have it aligned very well and I don't blind traffic plus it has that obvious HID look but as the driver I would prefer better optics. It just lights up the road so much better (evenly).
When I park my Accord next to my 99 RL with OEM HID's and shine the light down the road it's actually shamefull. It's so obvious how much different the optics are.
After my engine swap and paint work is done (june/july) I'll retro fit my one-pieces with either A6 or S2K projectors. I just can't afford to spend the money on them now but they are well worth it.
Remember HID's is a whole different technology, Halogen reflectors can't focus the light to it's full potential. It will deffinately be brighter with out a doubt but it's won't be evenly distributed and have that nice cut off that OEM's are known for.

i have a set of projector headlights i bought awhile back but then changed my mind about installing them since almost everyone on this board says that the light output sucks. from the diagram above, it shows a "reflector projector" which i am asumiing are the type of projectors i have. can i just get a D2R hid kit and install them onto the projector lights i have? i just want something with a nice cutoff line. I DO NOT WANT TO BLIND PEOPLE!
