I bought mine with 40,000 on the clock.
(6G, 1998 Accord LX, sedan, I-4, 5spd) - currently 70k on the clock
The problems are numerous:

First the passenger side AC vent fell off....no biggie - $50 to replace.

Then, infamous clock light bulb goes out...no biggie - $2.60

Next up, car has slightly weird idle - still haven't figured out why? (Honda techs can't either/ spent $$$ ot figure out why)

Then car shakes when turning the motor off. - They still haven't figured out whats causing that either/ again spent $$ to figure out why.

Later on, car hesitates during certain rpms as if fuel is being cut off for a microsecond - $65 on diagnosis @ Honda, still no cure.

Yesterday, Tranny gave up on me while parking....can't go into any gear. Still waiting on diagnosis after tranny gets taken out and ripped apart today (hydraulics are fine, seems internal). - costs so far for tranny labour - $395

I don't drive like a maniac
I drive normally, mostly never revving past 4k, no clutch dumps, no street racing, nothing.
I do love and take care of my car, on time services, oil changes, everything but being a student these expenses on repair are just killing me.

So why is my car hating me so much and doing massive dammage to my wallet??

I have had those same problems. But I just attribute them to being minor bugs or annoyances. The shaking at start and cut-off is interesting itself. I thought I was the only one. Anyway the car still drives great and I am fortunate that I have such a new car anyway...I dunno I'm rambling here but I just wanted to say 1) you're not alone and 2) I don't think there is anything that can be done about these problems

P.S. I also have a 98 LX 5-Speed

Is it a specific year? I have a 2002 w/ 71k miles and no probalems like that. My only problem is I need (want) a new paint job and fix my bumpers.
