nah dont know where in NY u are but in NYC u can tint all ur windows (except the front of course) just stay above the legal limit which is 30-35% if i remember correctly

 

Where I live cops can't pull you over unless it's for a moving violation or suspected bankrobber, etc. They can't nab you here just for tint :fawk:

 

thats what u think just cuz they dont do it all the time doesnt mean they cant. most cops wont stop u for some little shit but they will if they think they can catch u on something else. many times i got pulled ova cuz i have the GS tails on my trunk.. a few cops ran my plates and pulled me ova like why u got plates for a different car on ur car and i'm like look ova there at that car thats a GS300/400 and look at mine.. but in my case they never find another reason to give me that ticket so i go. i've seen mad people get pulled ova for BS and when everything pans out the cops come back and give them a ticket cuz their tint is too dark

 

You are correct, the legal limit is 30%...BUT...it is 30% block, 70% transmit, not the other way around. Therein lies the problem.

 

well ive had my windows tinted 15% in NY, Long Island to be exact, and i have only been pulled over once by an ass clown cop in a town where nothing else goes and and the cop is a hardass. i also got out of it kuz of my wonderful PBA card, thank god for those. i say just go 4 it and if the cops is gonna pull u over leave ur front windows open all the way so they dont notice it. just my .02cents

Bro get tints and dont be afraid. Tints change ur car a lot. IF you see cops following you turn on ur inside lights. Or if they pull you over open up your windows all the way. Anyway if you dont risk you dont win so get tints. Get like 20% all over or even make the back window 5%

 

Only problem is that the probable cause for stopping a car with tinted "illegal windows" is a great pretext for looking for someone who is intoxicated. If you're driving drunk, and you have tinted windows (in CA), you might be pulled over just for your windows.

I was pulled over for my tinted windows in my town but was subsequently "let go" without a warning. My tinted windows are illegal in CA, but I firmly believe that the Officer was doing a "deuce check."

yes when they pull you over for tint they think you are trying to hide something. last time I got pulled over for tint there were 3 cop cars behind me by the time I left. they just kept comming and going it was insane. and about 5 cops drove by while wis sitting there too. like 10 cop had to waist there time for a half hour just to give me a tint ticket.
the first time i got pulled over for tint there were two cop cars that pulled me over.
