You obviously lack any imagination. But that's okay. The world wouldn't be able to spin on its axis with a tilt of 23 degrees if it weren't for unimaginative folks like you. Trapped in the box. Believing that horsepower can only be achieved with FI. Believing that driving a one of a kind car is a bad thing. Believing that truly achieving individiuality is being the fastest. For you, the APC catalog awaits.

Why would you stop with the Evo VIII? Why not just tell him to get a true badass like an M5? Or maybe get the last American bad ass, the Impala SS with the 350 in it? I wouldn't say something "idiotic" like that cuz he didn't ask what car he should get, but rather can I put a 6 speed in?

i think this thread is finished. the moral of this thread is it can be done, with money, anything can be done. that's it.

haha me a rice boy yeah with an h22 and a 5sp swap in car that looks stock. i'm no rice boy, but i am an accountant and financially buying a brand new car to drop tons of money to make it a manual tranny is financially stupid when you have many other choices out there.

i don't think you guys fully understand the cost of this undertaking. this is not like doing a 5sp swap in a 4th or 5th gen accord when you can get a tranny for like $300 and all the parts for like $600 brand new. the idea of course would be great, i personally don't like the accord V6s competition. so hypothetically it would be cool, but not worth it unless you planned on doing car shows where custom things and being original really count.

jsut so you know that BRAND new tranny from honda will cost an arm and leg, a used auto tranny runs $1000 for an acura from 2002...and after quite some searching i found ONE used CL-S 6 spd for $1500. so figure more like $3000-45000 for the tranny from acura....then add in costs of parts in addition to that...i suspect that spengind $5000-6000 on parts alone is probably what it will run brand new, maybe 20-30% less for used....
then add labor....i bet you wold be looking at another grand at least.....is it REALLY worth it then???

And now you cleared yourself up. My point was don't go around calling people idiots. Financially stupid is fine, albeit in light of the notion of a custom car, still a weak argument. Financially stupid is buying a car in the first place with more than 65 hp and 3 cylinders (Geo Metro Hatch). The car can only depreciate in value. You don't truly need to go over 85 mph anywhere in this country, and in these turbulent times and greenhouse gas conscious times burning gas from the Mideast just isn't sound financial planning. (Please read that as different strokes for different folks!)

Being an accountant really doesn't impress me the way you think it should.

Going hybrid really doesn't protect someone from being a ricer either. Their are ricers/posers with Lambo's too....And reviewing my post. I never called you a ricer. Guilty conscience, eh?

all i ment was that i think tend to think financially since that's what i do. the only reason i did a swap was cause i didn't want to drop 2,000 to fix my auto tranny or lose 2,000 on trade since i couldn't sell it with a broke tranny. i also did not want car pmt and higher insurance. i took alot into consideration.

saying that an APC catalog awaits seems like a riceboy remark to me.

i don't care, my point has been. some agree and some don't we'll leave it at that.
