If youre truly serious about this kind of swap it can be done. It will cost serious loot, and be hard to find. Solution: spend more money and buy all your parts factory direct.

good luck to anybody that actually tries it...cuz a lotta folks will be pretty envious when they see the final product: A 240 hp, 6 cyl, sedan with 6spd, LSD, and all honda.

why, with cars like the evo 8 and the wrx sti that could be bought for similar money after doing all that work, i'd say your an idiot.

i have an idea of ppl that can swap trannys but the average cost ive seen from them for older cars was 1200-2000

question is, what cost would i be lookin at tryin to get a shop to swap the auto to a manual?
would 6 speed even be possible?
any specific damages i shoudl worry about besides "the car may never be the same again"?
would mechanics even be able to mess w/ an 03 accord, being new ?
personally i wouldnt do it right now, later on down the line yes. reason being once u do that u'd void every agrreement (minus a few) that honda has to ur ride, which means if there are an recallls u can be assed out. now i know people buy new cars and build them into show cars take their chances warranty wise but are u willing to do that? now parts wise ur fine since all they have to do is get the stock tranny from the accord coupe (6speed) once its released and its a straight swap no added questions or worries

regarding replies like this.. my fault.. some knew i already have this car, for those that dont, now u know ive got a 4dr av6 auto.. dad didnt like a coupe and wrx was outta the question

Not to be rude...but this isn't going to happen.

If you dad wouldn't let you get 18's, he's not going to let you (and pay for) a tranny swap.
surprisingly he's all for it .. after we both drove my friends standard civic si and 240sx he doesnt see a problem with it

Estimates huh??

Well best bet is to talk to the dealership about a replacement tranny of the manual kind...My guess is about $1300 - 2200

Talk to a local shop that deals only with Hondas (or your trusted speed shop) and find out what else you need. They should be able to get the parts from here but they wil estimate it for you better.

The parts won't be impossible especially since a shop I go to just had to get an 03 S2k tranny to replce the one they blew up on the track and it really wasn't too steep on cost.....I think they said like $900 or so brand new...but I'm not sure on that.

Hey, if you've got the money and the will to do it, go for it. Other than that my only thought is this:

It's my understanding that the coupe and sedan have a different dash & console (correct me if I'm wrong). That being the case, you might have a problem finishing off the bezel around the shifter on the console.

Of course, if you're going to spend that kind of money, I guess you could source the console bezel from a 5-speed 4-cyl 7th gen.

Also, someone mentioned that a 6-spd 4-door AV6 will be available at some point. Can anyone confirm this? It was my understanding that this wasn't going to happen. I know the dealers have reported demand, but Honda hasn't been forthcoming.

It should work. The 6-speed from the CL Type S should also work as well. Just need to find the proper transmission.
