Default 93' Accord vibration at idle

Just picked up a 93' Accord with 2.2 (125 hp) auto and the engine vibrates at idle while in gear. The problem decreases in park or neutral, but gets pretty bad when the AC compressor engages. All the vacuum lines seem intact and the motor mounts seem okay. Any ideas?? Thanks.

I had the same issue with my 93 EX Sedan, but after an oil change, the mechanic did something to the timing/idle rpm and now it vibrates LESS but it is still there...mine has 138K miles.

that car will always have some engine vibration, the 4th gen's are kinda known for that... even worse for 3rd gen's.

if it's soooooo severe that the engine stalls, check your throtle body or your egr valve.

Mine does same thing and if car warms up . (normal Temp) car viberates less... Yesterday.. I added STP fuel injector cleaner and it does help little.. but not much difference..

I have all new engine mount / timing checked /
throttle body cleaned. etc..

Next oil change I will try Mobil 1 Synthetic ...

I just live with vibration.. why? 4G Accord rules..

I threw in a new motor mount (front engine strut brace), checked the timing and it's still there. Not quite as bad, but it still shakes the car pretty good while in gear. Add A/C and it gets worse. I checked the remaining mounts and they are okay. I checked a road test from Car & Driver from 92' and they even mentioned excess vibration in a new car. I just think something is making it worse. May just have to live with it.

do you know if your car happens to have a counter balance belt inside by the timing belt? My friend had a prob on his prelude like this and it turned out the counter balance belt has some slack, the tensioner needed to be tightened, this could be causing the prob.....
